The idea behind this painting was to create an organized bar painting with distressed texture as a backdrop. The cool palette is overall blue tones with complimentary oranges and reds to create an energetic pop. The way the stripes are offset reminded of a flag.
I painted four to six layers of acrylic paint to achieve a rhythm and balance that is pleasing to the eye. The colors that border on one another are carefully chosen and layered to create a slight tension with overall harmony.
