The inspiration for this piece was to create a soothing, softly toned painting . I painted over a panel that I had previously used for a paper collage. I painted four to six layers of acrylic paint to achieve a rhythm and balance that is pleasing to the eye. The colors that border on one another are carefully chosen and layered to create a slight tension with overall harmony.

Typically my work is photography based, so painting is a freeing experience and an exercise in creating an immersive color experience.
