The inspiration for this piece was spring colors in the mountains. My color reference was blue skies, ornamental onion, iris flowers, day lilies, sunsets and more. I utilized rich jewel tones, bright hues and neutrals inspired by nature to convey a feeling of renewal. I used paper ephemera collage and acrylic paint to achieve a rhythm and balance that is pleasing to the eye. The colors that border on one another are carefully chosen and layered to create a slight tension with overall harmony.
